Most adults can look back to their teenage years and regretfully remember a heated argument with a parent or parents. You let your temper get the best of you, you maybe say a few things you don't mean and then you storm off to your room, slamming the door behind you. We can all envision a scenario or two like that. In fact, it's part of growing up.

However, in the case of 12-year-old Noah and his mother Wendy, their argument escalated beyond a few harsh words. During a segment of Dr. Phil's "Brat Camp," things got tense between the mother and son as they argued over their treatment of one another. It all culminated in a baffling scene in which Noah slaps his own mother across the face in an effort to make her understand him.

Noah and his mother eventually resolved their issue and are doing much better after their appearance on the show, according to a "How Are They Now?" follow up on Dr. Phil's website. It's still a startling reminder though that domestic abuse remains a very real subject in many households, whether it's verbal, physical or emotional. It's also important to know that there is help out there, with resources like childhelp.org or The National Domestic Violence Hotline.
