For one fast-food cashier, a small act of kindness resulted in a completely unexpected turn of events.

Travis Sattler, an employee at Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers in Katy, Texas, was nearing the end of his shift when a young boy approached the register clutching a couple crumpled bills. The youngster was hoping to order dessert, but was worried that he didn't have enough to pay for his mini cup of mint Oreo custard. Even after handing over everything that he had, the boy was still a couple of dollars short. Sattler, rather than turn the boy away, told him to keep his money and paid for the dessert with his own credit card. The boy's gratitude was apparent, but what made this interaction even more remarkable was what happened after he had finished his custard.

Before leaving with his mother, the boy dropped a note off with Sattler at the register. The note, which read, "Thank you for being so nice and paying for my concrete. We need more people like you!" was enough to leave Sattler beaming, but wrapped up in that piece of paper was an even bigger surprise. The boy had left a $100 tip, which Sattler has decided to put away for nursing school. While the management of Freddy's has yet to track down the young boy and his family, they have rewarded Sattler for his generous spirit by matching the boy's tip.

Watch this amazing story unfold in the video below, and let us know what you think about Sattler's actions in the comments section. Do you live by the mantra of paying it forward?
