This server thought it was going to be an ordinary day waiting tables in Tacoma, Washington. That is, until eight-year-old Alex McKelvey showed up and did something that reduced her to tears.

This little girl is on a remarkable mission: to complete 600 acts of kindness in memory of her late grandmother. Linda, Alex's nana, was the type of person who would "literally have given you the coat off her back." On the final day of her project (which also would have been Linda's 60th birthday), Alex volunteered at the Tacoma Rescue Mission shelter, paid for a stranger's breakfast, and gave her server a hefty $100 tip. Her list, which Alex refers to as Acts of Loving Kindness, included similar good deeds and culminated in the opening of a new youth room at the Lakewood YMCA that she spent hours painting. Though she has crossed every item off of her list, we're confident that Alex will continue to pay it forward in her community.

Watch the video below to learn more about Alex's generosity of spirit, and be sure to check out her Instagram page for more photos of her good deeds. As always, we'd love to hear what you think about this story, so let us know in the comments section. How are you bringing kindness to your community?
