After being pregnant and homeless in 8th grade, it would've been so easy for Trameka Pope to become just another statistic. However, this ambitious teenager from Chicago had a different plan for her life. No amount of adversity was going to stop her from accomplishing her goals.

Trameka gave birth only three days before her freshmen year of high school. However, she approached the tribulations of raising a child at such a young age with wisdom far beyond her years. She recalls that "God wouldn't have given her a challenge she couldn't handle" and therefore threw herself into the rigors of motherhood and her studies with a smile on her face.

Now valedictorian of her graduating high school class as well as a cheerleader, this remarkable girl also holds down two jobs. Trameka has been accepted at 26 colleges. She's also been awarded more than $80,000 in scholarship money and credits the incredibly supportive staff of Chicago's Wendell Phillips High School for helping her accomplish so much.

We're in awe of this young woman's positivity and determination to beat the odds. What did you think of her story? Sound off in the comments below and make sure to share if you found this video as uplifting as we did.
